Health & Safety Advisor
Location: West Midlands
Salary: £45,000 + Company Vehicle + BenefitsAssured Safety Recruitment is partnering with an established construction business to recruit a Health & Safety Advisor to support projects across the West Midlands region.
This is a varied, site-focused role suited to someone who enjoys working closely with operational teams and being visible across live construction environments. You’ll provide practical Health & Safety advice and support, helping site teams maintain high standards while continuing to strengthen a positive and proactive safety culture.
The Role
Reporting to the senior Health & Safety lead, you’ll work across a range of projects, providing day-to-day support to site managers, supervisors and operational teams.
Your responsibilities will include:
Carrying out regular site inspections, audits and safety observations.
Providing practical Health & Safety advice and guidance to site and operational teams.
Reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and supporting teams with their development.
Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and appropriate actions.
Producing clear reports and recommendations following site visits and audits.
Delivering toolbox talks, inductions and safety briefings.
Monitoring training, competency and compliance requirements.
Working closely with site teams to promote safe working practices and address unsafe behaviours.
Supporting the ongoing development of Health & Safety procedures and initiatives.
Liaising with clients, contractors and other stakeholders on Health & Safety matters.
About You
You’ll ideally have experience within construction, civil engineering, infrastructure or a similar site-based environment, with the confidence to build strong relationships at all levels.
You will also have:
A NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate.
A good working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation.
Practical knowledge of areas such as Work at Height and PUWER.
Experience of site inspections, audits and ideally incident investigation.
Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with operatives, supervisors, managers and clients.
A practical and solutions-focused approach to Health & Safety.
Good organisational, IT and report-writing skills.
A full UK driving licence.
