Fire Risk Assessor – 6 Month Contract

Assured Safety Recruitment is working with an established housing provider to recruit an experienced Fire Risk Assessor for an initial six-month contract supporting its residential property portfolio across the Thames Valley region.

This is a hands-on role for an experienced and registered Fire Risk Assessor who can quickly become established within the organisation and take responsibility for delivering high-quality Fire Risk Assessments across a varied range of residential properties.

The Role

Working across the housing portfolio, you’ll undertake Fire Risk Assessments, provide specialist advice and identify appropriate actions to ensure fire safety risks are effectively managed.

Key responsibilities will include:

• 
  

  Undertaking suitable and sufficient Fire Risk Assessments across residential buildings and communal areas.

• 
  

  Producing clear and comprehensive FRA reports, identifying and prioritising remedial actions.

• 
  

  Reviewing existing Fire Risk Assessments and completing reassessments where required.

• 
  

  Providing competent advice on fire safety legislation, guidance and best practice.

• 
  

  Identifying issues relating to fire doors, compartmentation, means of escape, fire detection and other passive and active fire protection measures.

• 
  

  Working with housing, property and compliance teams to ensure identified risks and actions are clearly understood.

• 
  

  Supporting the prioritisation and management of actions arising from Fire Risk Assessments.

• 
  

  Liaising with contractors and other specialists regarding fire safety works where required.

• 
  

  Supporting investigations following fire-related incidents and making appropriate recommendations.

• 
  

  Maintaining accurate assessment records and fire safety compliance information.

• 
  

  Liaising effectively with residents, colleagues, contractors and other stakeholders on fire safety matters.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced Fire Risk Assessor who can confidently work across a residential property portfolio with minimal supervision.

You will have:

  A recognised Level 4 Fire Safety/Fire Risk Assessment qualification or equivalent.

• 
  

  Current registration or certification as a Fire Risk Assessor through a recognised professional body or certification scheme.

• 
  

  Demonstrable experience undertaking Fire Risk Assessments within residential buildings, ideally social housing or a similarly varied housing portfolio.

• 
  

  Strong knowledge of current fire safety legislation, guidance and relevant standards.

• 
  

  A sound technical understanding of compartmentation, fire doors, means of escape, fire detection and passive and active fire protection.

• 
  

  Experience producing detailed FRA reports and identifying proportionate, risk-based remedial actions.

• 
  

  The ability to manage your own workload and assessments across multiple locations.

• 
  

  Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

• 
  

  A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel across the Thames Valley region.
