Description
A growing FMCG manufacturer based in Leicester is seeking a Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Manager to lead and elevate the SHE agenda across a dynamic, mid‑sized production site. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands‑on, visible, and influential in an organisation where safety culture is genuinely valued.
You’ll be the site’s SHE lead, working closely with an engaged senior team and supported by a wider group network that encourages innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
About the Role
As SHE Manager, you will:
Drive a proactive, positive safety culture across all departments
Strengthen existing SHE systems and introduce improvements tailored to a mid‑sized operation
Lead behavioural safety initiatives and coach managers to embed safe working practices
Provide expert guidance to site leadership and influence operational decision‑making
Ensure compliance with UK H&S and environmental legislation
Support sustainability, wellbeing, and waste‑reduction programmes
Maintain strong visibility on the shop floor and build trust with operational teams
Key Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will:
Hold a Level 6 Health & Safety Diploma (or equivalent); GradIOSH/CMIOSH desirable
Have experience in manufacturing, FMCG, food, or similar production environments
Be confident engaging with teams at all levels, from operators to directors
Bring a practical, solutions‑focused approach suited to a smaller organisation
Be passionate about cultural improvement and behavioural safety
Understand the operational realities of a busy production site
