UK Health, Safety & Environment Manager
Location: South West (Home-based with regular travel across five UK logistics sites)
Assured Safety Recruitment are suuporting a rapidly growing online retailer is seeking a proactive and strategic UK HSE Manager to lead health, safety, and environmental performance across its expanding logistics division. This newly created role reflects the company’s commitment to operational excellence and employee's safety.
Reporting to the Operations Director, you’ll oversee a network of five sites and manage a SHE Coordinator, playing a key role in shaping the HSE culture and systems.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a robust HSE strategy aligned with business growth
Lead audits, inspections, and risk assessments across all logistics locations
Manage and mentor the SHE Coordinator, supporting their development and performance
Oversee the rollout of a new HSE management system, ensuring consistency and compliance
Deliver engaging training and toolbox talks to promote a proactive safety culture
Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions
Monitor and report on HSE performance to the Operations Director and senior leadership
Ensure compliance with all relevant UK HSE legislation and best practices
About You
NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent Level 6 qualification) – essential
Proven experience in logistics, warehousing, or a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Strong auditing, training, and systems implementation skills
Excellent communication and leadership abilities
A proactive, hands-on approach with strategic vision
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly
