The Company
Assured Safety Recruitment is working with a successful and innovative civil engineering company to join their senior management team as a SHEQ Manager.
This role requires an experienced SHEQ Manager to take the lead in all areas of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality including developing, maintaining, and monitoring all the requirements relevant to the accreditations.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
· Lead with the management and maintenance of the Integrated Management System, making modifications when and where required.
· Monitor through inspections, surveillance and audits, compliance to the systems to ensure certification is maintained.
· Ad hoc SHEQ inspections of active sites and workshops & depots.
· Host external audits and undertake any actions following as required.
· Ensure system and process in place to capture NCRs for any Safety, Health, Environmental or Quality issues.
· Ensure Baseline risk assessments are in place as appropriate and reviewed as required.
· Ensure Baseline COSHH assessments are in place as appropriate and reviewed as required.
· Assist with the setting and monitoring of Company targets and objectives concerning safety, health, environmental and quality issues.
· Produce a monthly report and attend monthly Senior Management Meetings reporting on relevant matters within the scope of the role.
· Ensure HAVS exposure audits are undertaken, and results monitored, and actions taken if required. Implementing up to date monitoring systems that collect and utilise data to reduce HAVS exposure.
· Undertake in-house training days and Toolbox Talks as and when appropriate.
· Communicate safety, health, environmental and quality issues to employees as appropriate.
· Undertake audits to ensure compliance to safety, health, environmental and quality legislation.
· Investigate accidents / incidents and subsequent reports to HSE where required under RIDDOR.
· Ensure all works required for Health and Safety Plan are carried out at required timescales.
· Ensure new starters are inducted into the business including HR, safety, health, environmental and quality matters and organize occupational health reviews as appropriate.
· Organise health surveillance appointments and monitor outcomes as required.
· Attend Client SHEQ meetings as appropriate to the role and report back to the Senior Management Team.
· Be proactive at Client SHEQ meetings and represent the Company in a positive manner.
About you
· NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent, and CSCS Card holder
· Experience in the management of environmental and quality standards required - qualifications would be desirable
· Understanding of ISO45001, ISO14001 and ISO9001 standards
· Understanding and practical experience of obtaining and maintaining certification to CHAS, Safe Contractor, Constructionline, Achilles Verify, CEMARS and SMAS.
· Previous experience managing SHEQ within a Construction environment
· Clean driving licence
