Health, Safety and Environment Manager
Assured Safety Recruitment are proud to be partnering with the European Division of a major, worldwide, household brand seeking to appoint a Health, Safety and Environment Manager. The role will be based in Wakefield; a vast, state of the art, automated production facility with a number of different production lines and further expansion planned. The site has a particularly strong health, safety and environment culture with a strong culture of engagement and operating at world class standards.
You will lead on-site health, safety and environmental expertise and the implementation of Health and Safety Policies and Standards to ensure the site achieves healthy and safe working and a zero accident approach. Key responsibilities include:
- Site Health, Safety & Environment Policy Definition
- Implement policy and requirements to be incorporated into the site Health, Safety & Environment management systems
- Define the standards for Health, Safety & Environment R/A to be completed by Manufacturing and Distribution to ensure hazards are recognised and eliminated
- Define the standards for Health and Safety and drive continuous improvement projects
- Coach teams through HSE related incident investigations and incorporate learning’s into future operational practices
- Lead the site in delivery of the HSE plan
- Active involvement in reduction of risk through continual improvement
- Manage cost control of agreed budget
- Play a leadership role within manufacturing to achieve the site’s objectives
- Support and develop the performance of individual team members utilising performance management tools and techniques
Skills & Essentials:
- NEBOSH
- Environmental Management qualification (desirable) otherwise experience in managing and delivering efficiencies and assuring environmental legal compliance
- Essentially you will have Health and Safety experience in a large-scale, complex, automated production environment with a number of risks and hazards
- Experience of driving cultural/behavioural change in safety and achieving continuous improvement
