Health and Safety Leader
Based: Hybrid role based Hemel Hempstead with travel to to other sites across UK and some homeworking
About the Company:
Assured Safety Recruitment are working with a highly successful European FMCG Company to appoint a Health and Safety Leader. As Health and Safety Leader you will ensure the company’s Health and Safety Policy is implemented consistently across the organisation and monitor, evaluate and review Health and Safety policy and practice, making recommendations and enhancements to ensure the company meet their legal obligations, their clients standards and ultimately to ensure all employees, contractors or other agents are protected engaged in HSE and protected.
About the Role:
· To assist in the identification of training needs for employees and develop and deliver training as required.
· To advise senior management on the implications of current and emerging health, safety and welfare legislation, including evaluating options, making recommendations and generating actions plans to ensure compliance.
· To support Leaders to maintain safe systems, providing specialist advice, coaching and practical support
· To assist Leaders, implement health and safety systems and procedures to meet specific requirements, such as accident reporting and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH).
· To carry out audits to evaluate the effectiveness of Health and Safety systems, procedures and identify and implement improvements.
· To ensure routine health and safety activities and checks are carried out
· To investigate, or assist others to investigate the circumstances and causes of accidents and take necessary steps to prevent a recurrence.
· Take action to mitigate the impact and likelihood of health and safety risks.
· Undertake any other duties as required by management to support the health and safety program.
· Working closely with Service Leaders, Regional Leaders, Executive Leadership Team.
About you:
. Excellent written and interpersonal skills.
· A relevant professional qualification e.g. NEBOSH Certification or NEBOSH Diploma, Level 5 or 6 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice
· Good knowledge of effective health and safety management strategies and best practice.
· Confident trainer able to conduct in order to conduct internal training.
· Working within FMCG or / Logistics / Retail / Catering Environment.
· Ability to set, plan and see through corrective and preventative actions
· Ability to liaise and manage cross functional teams.
