Health, Safety & Compliance Advisor

Ipswich, Suffolk
£35,000 - £40,000 + Company Vehicle + Benefits

Looking to move from site operations into a Health & Safety role?

Assured Safety Recruitment is working with a leading construction and infrastructure organisation to recruit a Health, Safety & Compliance Advisor based in Ipswich.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong site-based experience who is passionate about safety and compliance and is looking to develop their career within Health & Safety. Whether you're already working in a junior H&S position or are a site supervisor, scaffolding professional, or construction operative with a NEBOSH qualification, this role offers a fantastic route into a dedicated safety career.

The Role

You'll be responsible for supporting operational teams across multiple sites, carrying out audits and inspections, promoting safe working practices, and ensuring compliance with company procedures and industry regulations.

Working closely with managers, site teams and clients, you'll play a key role in driving a positive safety culture while helping to improve operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site audits, inspections and safety observations.
  • Support operational teams with Health & Safety compliance.
  • Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Investigate incidents and near misses.
  • Deliver toolbox talks, briefings and safety communications.
  • Monitor training, competency and compliance requirements.
  • Produce reports and compliance documentation.
  • Promote best practice and challenge unsafe behaviours where necessary.

What We're Looking For

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or working toward)
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good understanding of construction site activities.
  • Confidence engaging with operatives, supervisors and management teams.

Ideal Background

We would particularly like to hear from candidates with experience in:

  • Construction
  • Civil Engineering
  • Infrastructure
  • Utilities
  • Site Supervision

This role would suit someone looking to transition from a hands-on site role into a dedicated Health & Safety position while remaining closely involved with operations.
