Assured Safety Recruitment has been engaged by a Global Logistics Group to appoint a Regional Health, Safety and Environment Advisor for their Southern Region. The organisation already has significant presence in the UK and has further ambitious growth plans over the next five years. You will support six core RDC’s in a key division of the company, reporting to the Divisional QSHE and Compliance Manager. The ideal centre of this role is Bristol/M4 Corridor.

You will work as part of the Divisional Health, Safety and Environment team implementing the change management programme and continuing the transformation the health and safety culture of compliance. You will ensure that the business attains and sustains defined levels of compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.

You will work closely and continually with managers and colleagues at your designated sites within a defined area of responsibility, to support colleagues in meeting their site’s Health, Safety and Environment objectives

You will provide pro-active and professional guidance and information; and assist sites to implement recommendations made by the corporate Health, Safety and Environment team, in their role as ‘competent persons’.

During change management and transformation projects, assist sites in maintenance of health, safety and environment systems and meeting Health, Safety and Environment requirements through the provision of guidance, information, support and auditing.

You will provide professional guidance and information to site management and colleagues in the following areas:

  • Certificated management standards (ISO9001; 14001 & OHSAS18001)
  • Safe Systems of Work
  • Writing risk assessments and compliant training modules (ABCs)
  • Premises layout & workplace transport
  • Contractor management
  • Safe implementation of change: procedural; equipment; product handled, etc.
  • Environmental Agency Pollution Prevention Guidelines
  • Duty of Care and other legal obligations with reference to waste
  • Environmental reporting

You will ideally have warehousing/distribution experience, this could be from any industry sector such as manufacturing or retail or direct from a logistics provider. You will hold a Nebosh Certificate and be comfortable with regular travel. You will have previous experience in a multi-site role.
