National Project Health and Safety Advisor
1 year fixed term contract
Salary Up to £45,000 + car
Nationwide travel including some overnight stays, suitable candidates will ideally be located between Oxfordshire and Manchester with good access to motorway networks
Assured Safety Recruitment have been engaged by a multi-national logistics group seeking to appoint a National Health and Safety Advisor (1 year fixed term contract) on a key workplace transport project across their network of national distribution sites.
You will assist the SHEQ & Compliance Manager in the rigorous implementation of workplace transport segregation improvements in respect of all depots within your region, so that they attain and sustain compliance with best practice standards.
You will focus on promoting and improving workplace and workforce safety; and work with management and Trade Union representatives to remove obstacles to the necessary changes to effect improvements.
You will ensure continuous two-way communication with the Regional General Managers and Site Managers for your region to ensure that they fully understand their legal requirements; the improvement actions required to achieve compliance and the associated deadlines, to avoid legal breach and prosecution.
You will take a risk-based approach to pro-actively auditing and inspecting the sites within your region and escalate any serious uncontrolled risks and take appropriate action to reduce risk.
You will ensure the sites within your region have implemented a full and consistent set of relevant procedures, risk assessments and associated training modules; pro-actively assist site managers to close knowledge gaps, and to improve the effectiveness and communication of documentation.
You will be qualified to Nebosh Certificate with significant logistics experience and excellent knowledge of work place transport and segregation.
