Description

Assured Safety Recruitment has been engaged by a prestigious education organisation to recruit a Health and Safety Advisor to oversee and coordinate health and safety to ensure the safety of their staff, students and visitors. The Health and Safety Advisor will work closely with internal stakeholders and staff to promote a positive health and safety culture focused on continual improvement.

A key part of your role will be to;

Ensure that the Health and Safety Management System is continually developed and kept up to date.

Ensure environments are safe and comply with related health and safety legislation.

Ensure employees are well informed and understand the organisations health & safety policies and procedures.

Regularly review all health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and best practice.

Ensure that appropriate and comprehensive risk assessments are prepared.

Ensure that there is a robust compliance control system in place. Carry out regular audits and identify any required improvements.

Record and investigate incidents and accidents, make RIDDOR reports to the HSE where necessary.

Work alongside the Training Manager to ensure that all mandatory Health and Safety training is completed.

Maintain a working knowledge of all health & safety legislation and keep up to date.

Advise on, and ensure compliance with, all health & safety matters, including fire regulations, the management and safe disposal of hazardous substances, safeguarding machinery, noise mitigation, RIDDOR, etc.

Regularly review the organisations fire safety policies, and invacuation and evacuation policies. 

Application criteria;

Applicants should have experience in an Education environment or relatable sector such as charity, retail, leisure, facilities management/property etc. Ideally you hold a Nebosh Diploma or Equivalent but consideration will be given to candidates with relevant Education Sector experience and the Nebosh Certificate.
