Assured Safety Recruitment has been appointed by a leading multi-national manufacturing group to assist in the recruitment of a Health, Safety and Environment Advisor for busy and fast-paced production site.
Reporting to the Site General Manager, you will lead and co-ordinate all aspects of health, safety and environmental management, training, and support. You will work closely with the Site Management Team to provide expert technical advice, acting as a competent person.
Key Responsibilities:
Advising management teams on legal requirements, industry best practice, and group standards ·
Working in conjunction with site management and either UK or regional HR leads to drive the Health and Safety agenda
Driving culture change and reinforcing good health and safety cultures, creating the forums and opportunities to involve and communicate with colleagues
Creating standards/performance frameworks for performance assessment and benchmarking (e.g. ISO 180001/ISO14001/ISO50001)
Coordinating the generation and routine maintenance/review of risk assessment and safe systems of work processes
Coordinating accident investigation processes, recording and reporting industrial injuries as required
Carrying out routine Site Health & Safety/Environmental audits to comply with the local site and wider regional requirements
Reviewing, updating and maintaining Site Health & Safety/Environmental Policy & procedures
Supporting & advising Occupational Health & HR as required to ensure the health & wellbeing of colleagues ·
Maintaining the Environmental Management Systems in line with ISO14001
Responsibility for the coordination of other wider site service activities such as security & waste management ·
Delivering induction training, & other Health & Safety training such as Fire/Coshh/Manual Handling etc as required ·
Working alongside Site management teams in developing the site for continued success taking part in projects or project work as required.
Essential Criteria
You will hold a minimum of the Nebosh Certificate or equivalent.
You will have practical experience in a health and safety role in manufacturing experience.
