Location is flexible in the North West.
Opportunity to join a dynamic national health and safety team as a Regional health and safety manager. The business is a prestigious, large distribution group with an expansive network of national depots and vast fleet. You will lead the continued development and improvement of health and safety across a number of key regional distribution centres across the North Weat and additional peripheral sites.
You will form close working relationships with key leadership teams and management with the region, contributing to corporate health and safety strategy and implementing through local engagement across your region. You will also monitor and maintain current ISO 14001 status.
You will act as the key person in dealings with local enforcement officers within the region, building effective relationships.
You will ensure the timely and effective investigation and RIDDOR's. Your responsibilities will further include managing the response to major incidents and accidents. You will report on complex and/or serious events for submission to the Operational Management.
You will review performance through audit and inspection, escalating major issues accordingly.
You will have a thorough understanding of the risk management process, including operational control of major hazards, and drive risk reduction.
You will develop and deliver training and briefings to management teams on key issues and topics.
Suitable candidates will be qualified to Nebosh Diploma/NVQ Level 5 or working towards. You will have a background with the logistics/distribution sector and ideally have worked in a multi-site role.
