Job Title: HSEQ Advisor
Salary: £40-50k + Car + Bonus, Pension, Benefits
Location: Oxfordshire with UK travel
Assured Safety Recruitment are proud to be partnering with a company who provide innovative site access solutions to the Construction, Rail and Power industries, to recruit this new role in their Health, Safety, Environment and Quality team.
The role:
The role involves evaluating and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards through audits, assessments, and performance analysis. Responsibilities include reviewing worksite assessments, promoting safety policies, setting objectives, and developing initiatives based on performance data. The individual will also handle inquiries from clients, regulatory bodies, and the public, assist in training, and ensure employees receive necessary resources for maintaining a safe work environment. Special projects may be assigned, requiring collaboration with management to ensure accountability for health, safety, and environmental results.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:-
- Provide leadership and technical guidance in complying with SHEQ regulations.
- Support operational leadership in promoting safe practices.
- Implement SHEQ policies and procedures in line with local and Group regulations.
- Plan and deliver safety training programs to improve safety culture.
- Conduct assurance audits to ensure safety policies are followed.
- Lead process improvement teams and inspect worksite activities to identify hazards.
- Guide supervisors in accident investigations and incident investigations.
- Participate in accident investigations and recommend corrective actions.
- Communicate workplace hazards and risks to managers, employees, and contractors.
- Maintain safety, training, and environmental records, ensuring training is effective.
- Maintain regular communication with operations to identify trends and ensure relevant HSE management.
- Serve as the local point of contact for all SHEQ matters.
About you:
- You will hold the NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
- Proven experience in field service or construction environments with a focus on SHEQ.
- Experienced in designing and developing SHEQ manuals, procedures, and work instructions.
- Skilled in developing, facilitating, and assessing SHEQ training and competency programs.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory compliance standards.
- Working knowledge of Health and Safety law implementation.
- Exposure to ISO standards and auditing (ISO 45001, 9001, 14001).
- Experienced in conducting on-site inspections.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative approach.
- Experienced in incident investigation and applying CDM Regulations and reviewing RAMS.
- Must have a UK driving license
