The Company
Assured Safety Recruitment have been engaged by a leading firm in their sector to source an innovative and influential Health, Safety and Environmental professional who will have full responsbility for HSE across all UK sites.
About the Role
With the emphasis on Health and Safety management this role will be responsible for the corporate H&S policy and influence to help develop, implement, monitor, measure and manage the EHS management system, strategy, and continuous improvement across all Business Units. This individual will work collaboratively across departments, regions, and business units to assist in the company’s requirements to achieve world class H&S.
You will lead the Health, Safety and Environment support function ensuring compliance with Company and statutory HSEQ requirements. The role shall facilitate the improved performance of both the operational and supporting functions through direct support, collaboration, and encouragementKey Responsibilities:
- Act as the subject matter expert for the development of and technical content with emphasis on EHS management system and its effectiveness thereafter along with support for Health and Safety programs
- Responsible for developing and implementing, monitoring and measuring audit process against the effectiveness of the EHS management system and providing recommendation changes to reinforce culture and continuous improvement
- Communicate the EHS agenda across internal systems and raise awareness and buy-in
- To analyse the measurement of EHS management and maturity across the business globally and advise on progress and next steps
- Participate in HSE communications and consultations with Employee Representatives
- Liaise with other groups and external parties where necessary such as Regulators, Contractors, and clients
Your Experience
- The successful candidate will have demonstrated previous experience in a Health & Safety role with a focus on health and safety management in a multisite organisation.
- Ensure the HSE systems are designed and implemented in accordance with key ISO standards such as ISO9001, ISO45001 and ISO14001.
- Culture Change – demonstrable experience of implementing culture change is essential
- Event Delivery – competent in introducing small & large audiences to complex ideas
- Influencing Colleagues – Ability to work alongside others to influence them to consider culture changes as part of their wider agenda
- Challenge and Feedback – skilled in delivering powerful and non-judgement challenge and feedback
- Systems Thinking – ability to identify the business systems and processes that need to support a change
- Analysis and Review – ability to independently review trends using analysis tools such as interviews and data
