Health and Safety Manager / Technical Manager

Location: Devon

Travel: This role involes minimum travel. The role is based in the office 4 days per week and homebased 1 day per week (on average).

Job Description

Assured Safety Recruitment are partnering with an industry leading Construction Audit Group to appoint a Health and Safety Technical Manager to lead a team of Health and Safety Auditors within their expanding business. The business works with a variety of construction related clients from large blue-chips to small SME’s and has ambitious expansion plans over the next five years.

You will have a background in health and safety within the construction sector with strong CDM knowledge. You will act as the technical expert, leading and managing the Health and Safety Audit Team to ensure the business delivers a high level of service to clients and maintains compliance to external standards. You will establish and deliver a CPD training program for your team and implement and update technical documents and resources.

You will contribute with planning and future developments of the health & safety assessment procedures in conjunction with the Senior Management Team, ensuring the business remains compliant with new legislation and maximizes market and growth opportunities. You will form key external relationships within the industry.

Criteria

You will have strong communication skills and experience of providing a high level of health and safety to external standards. You will also have strong training skills and experience of the ability to lead and mentor a team.

You will have a good understanding of CDM regulations and Health and Safety Regulations. You will hold a Nebosh Certificate or Nebosh Construction Certificate as a minimum but ideally be working towards Grad IOSH/CMIOSH through the  NVQ or Diploma route.
