Assured Safety Recruitment is partnering with a well-known FMCG European Brand to recruit a Safety, Health and Environment Manager for their key manufacturing facility based in Lichfield. The position covers two sites in the UK - both production and logistics. The site has a positive and pro-active safety culture, driven from the top and an enviable health and safety record.
The Safety, Health and Environment Manager will form part of Site Management Team, reporting to the Site Leader with two direct reports. The role also will also function as the UK Key Point of Contact for the European Parent Group, taking responsibility for UK Safety, Health and Environment reporting and strategy.
Key responsibilities
- Leading the health and safety agenda across site, actively coaching to ensure continuous improvements in performance.
- Providing regular advice to site management teams to ensure the business complies with the latest legislation and best practice.
- Assisting in the identification of training needs for the business and employees in order develop and deliver a comprehensive programme of safety training.
- ·Advising on capital projects involving new processes and equipment. Provide professional advice during the sourcing and commissioning of new equipment.
- To be the Lead for all health, safety and environment enforcement and regulatory bodies.
- Delivering an effective improvement plan for safety on site and implementing UK best practice.
- To oversee the UK Group Strategy, supporting and guiding UK sites to meet their objectives and reporting back to Group.
Application Criteria
Ideally you will have a FMCG background or experience in another manufacturing sector, alternatively food logistics experience.
You will have experience within health and safety leadership roles, having formed part of a Senior Management Team.
You will demonstrate achievements that show a track record of continuous improvement in health and safety performance.
