Health, Safety and Compliance Advisor (Hybrid)

Location: Stafford, working from home 2 days per week.

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000

Start: Immediate or within 4 weeks’ notice

The Company

Assured Safety Recruitment are partnering with a large and highly successful distribution group who have a great opportunity to join their corporate, central function as a Health, Safety and Compliance Advisor. This role offers a hybrid working pattern - two days from home per week. The role is responsible for ensuring the groups compliance and the effectiveness of health and safety policies and management systems and works closely with insurers.

About the role

The H&S and Compliance Advisor will ensure the effective health and safety framework, which supports the wider operational health and safety teams within the group by ensuring group compliance with current health and safety legislation and approved codes of practice. In addition, providing guidance in relation to policies to ensuring a culture of safe working is maintained across operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement key Group Health and Safety Policies


  • Ensure the effectiveness of group health and safety management system is effective and suitably implemented across all business areas.
  • Accountable for the provision and ensuring the delivery of mandatory health and safety related training programs
  • Ensuring consistent and accurate reporting across the business concerning Health and Safety KPIs
  • Coordinate the collaboration of business units with regards to Health and Safety
  • Coordinate Employee Liability Insurance from a Group Level, ensuring respective Business units

About you:

Ideally you have a logistics knowledge whether that be directly from employment in logistics/distribution or from manufacturing, retail, or consultancy etc.

Nebosh Certificate, Level 5/6 Diploma would be helpful but not essential.

Experience writing health and safety policies and procedures, excellent knowledge of legislation and experience of managing insurance claims/working with insurers.
