The Company
Assured Safety Recruitment are partnering with a prestigious, European Group to recruit a Lead Health and Safety Manager for their large manufacturing business unit that has consistently delivered exceptional results over the last year and has continued to invest, with a number of recent multi-million-pound capital investments.
This position will work closely with the Operational Leadership Team and the Group Health and Safety function, to drive exceptional health and safety standards and operational performance in a key division.
About the role
- Delivering a successful strategy for health, safety and environment across sites
- Delivering a successful framework of incident investigation, auditing and training with a primary focus on action closure
- Maintaining effective relationships with the regulatory/ enforcing authorities
- Leading the site health, safety and environment teams in the successful implementation of safety metrics for the function
- Delivering safety support, coaching and advice to operational leadership and embedding agreed safety standards
- Leading the site health and safety team/site safety managers using the specialist skills to focus on professional competencies, development and meeting all customer safety requirements
- Coaching and mentoring SMT’s on delivering health and safety as an integral aspect of all operational activity
- Working closely, as an effective health and safety business partner, to the Operations Director
- Maintaining effective links with Group Health and Safety Team and contributing to and delivering the national health and safety strategy, policy and standards.
- Direct accountability for leading health and safety initiatives
- Ensuring effective integration of health and safety within the divisions business plans
Application Criteria
- We are seeking applicants with experience of leading health and safety across a manufacturing business with a variety of risks. Ideally this would include multi-site experience or if single site – a complex, large facility.
- A Nebosh Diploma or equivalent is essential, as is a full driving license and ideally a Lead Auditor qualification.
- Key, is an ability to engage stakeholders and to challenge and influence management teams in driving health and safety performance.
