The Company
Assured Safety Recruitment are partnering with an ambitious, emerging 3PL to recruit a pro-active Head of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality to lead and champion its commitment to HSEQ across the organisation. The role will advise the board on all aspects of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality and will be responsible for driving and delivering the strategic direction of Health, Safety and Environment whilst raising the profile and culture at all levels of the business. This newly created, key role will be pivotal in the business achieving its ambitious growth strategy. The business currently operates from ten sites, with further new sites planned.
About the role
- The Head of HSEQ will play a crucial strategic part for all new sites, from the pre-planning phase through to the sites becoming fully operational.
- Alongside Health, Safety and Environment, the role is responsible for Facilities Management and Security. Previous experience of FM or Security isn’t essential, as these areas will be managed on a day-to-day basis by a member of the existing team.
- You will implement practical and effective methods of promoting HSEQ practices in the workplace, engaging and empowering teams at all levels.
- You will ensure compliance with applicable standards and legislation, whilst actively promoting a proactive health, safety, and environment culture.
- You will provide leadership, coaching and training to specialist functions and managers.
- You will improve performance through the implementation of relevant management systems.
Your experience
- The role calls for an engaging leader with a practical approach and a passion for empowering teams at all levels.
- You will have previous experience of working in a similar level of role.
- You will have devised and implemented a Health, Safety and Environment Strategy for a multi-site business.
- As previously mentioned, experience of facilities and security isn’t essential, but a willingness to provide strategic direction (as part of your role) in these area’s is essential.
- You will hold the Nebosh Diploma Level 6 or equivalent and ideally hold Chartered Membership of IOSH.
- Previous experience in logistics, manufacturing, retail, or related sectors is essential.
- The role offers hybrid working, although applicants will need to be located in the Surrey, West Sussex vicinity to attend regular visits to head office.
- Willingness to travel regularly to other company sites.
