Safety, Health and Environment Manager
Based: South Staffordshire
Salary: Up to £43,000 + bonus + healthcare + pension
Assured Safety Recruitment is partnering with a well-known European food brand to recruit a Safety, Health and Environment Manager for its Staffordshire manufacturing facility. The UK Group has established itself as the leading producer and distributor in its field, with significant growth gained organically and through several acquisitions.
Forming part of the Site Leadership team you will continue to engage and influence at all levels of the business, facilitating and driving the health, safety and environment agenda across the site.
Key responsibilities:
- Delivering an effective improvement plan based on best practice.
- Playing an active and leading role within the H&S committees.
- Creating a culture where individual managers take responsibility for safety within their department.
- Leading the safety agenda and actively coach continuous improvements in performance.
- Designing and delivering practical training based on best practice
- Liaising with regulatory bodies and company insurers
- Carrying out site inspections and audits and agreeing subsequent action plans.
- Ensuring investigations of all incidents are carried out and root cause analysis.
- Providing advice to site management teams to ensure the business complies with the latest legislation and best practice.
- Assisting in the identification of training needs for the business and employees in order develop and deliver a comprehensive programme of safety training.
- Actively involved in capital projects involving new processes and equipment. Providing professional advice during the sourcing and commissioning of new equipment.
Skills and Experience:
- Nebosh Certificate ideally coupled with Safety, Health and Environment within a food manufacturing environment, or similar process orientated manufacturing.
- Working knowledge and understanding of OHSAS 18001.
- Experience of influencing and engaging senior management teams.
